Aspen Real Estate Update - November 10th, 2011
SALES SINCE OCTOBER 1ST: 25 Under Contract and 27 Closings! Two large spec homes on Red Mountain will close this month. One, at 10.702 square feet on Nighthawk Lane, originally listed at $23,900,000 and rumored to close for about $15,000,000. The other is a triple A location with 10,600 square feet overlooking Aspen Mountain and town, listed with the old house of 4,848 square feet next door originally priced at $35,000,000 and now at $25,850,000. I bet it goes out in the teens. HOLIDAY RENTALS: We are filling up nicely for Christmas. If your home is not rented yet, requests are coming in daily. If you or your friends need a place, please do not wait any longer AND renters are making offers, not necessarily paying asking rates.
RESTAURANTS: "Aspen Over Easy Cafe" is opening at 304 S. Mill Street for breakfast, lunch & brewery food. "La Creperie" is opening at the corner of Mill Street & Hopkins Avenue downstairs. HEALTH: "Pure Barre", a total body workout using ballet, pilates & weights, is opening at 620 E. Hyman above "L'Hostaria". "City Market Pharmacy" is opening next to Fed-Ex at the corner of Spring Street and E. Cooper Avenue. GOLF NEWS: I know it seems silly, but I just poke with the manager of the Maroon Creek Club who said they have set the date of August 12th, 2012 to close the golf course and re-plant all the grass. The club will remain open, but there will be plenty of excavation going on. You will want to know this if you are plannign next summer around golf.
