Aspen Update! - May 26th, 2011

Over 90 inches of snow has fallen since the lifts closed in April.  The top runs are open, so ski for an hour, then take a bike ride or play golf!

SUMMER FESTIVALS:

a.  Aspen Theatre in the Park opens with a new facility highlights two musicals and a drams.  For more information see www.theatreaspen.org.

REAL ESTATE:  Sales continue during this snowy offseason.  There have been twenty-two (22) closings in the last month ranging in price from $600,000 - $14,000,000.  Call us for specifics.  A large percentage of the spec product is now sold and closed.  Just comparing the stat sheet to volume of a year ago is amazing.  It seems like sellers and buyers are finally getting closer to the "same page".

CHANGES AND ADDITIONS TO THE COMMERCIAL CORE:  Two new restaurants are opening...both on the Hyman Avenue Mall.

a.  One is Jeffrey Klein who opened Matsuhissa.  This is a fusion theme with "farm to table", and

b. Two, across from that is the Old Mustang space is Finbarr's, a superior Irish Pub.

c.  New cafe called Koto located in the old Victoria's space as she moves up to Cooper Avenue.

RETAIL:

a.  Barton Perreira Eyewear opens at 520 E. Cooper.

b. Covet Bright and Shiny Things is opening across from Junk.

c.  Drasner Gallery of high end photography is opening at 520 E. Hyman.

Wow, that should keep us busy besides all our hiking, biking, golfing, tennis, etc!
